ACS AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Massage

  • The fluid injected during surgery will migrate down with gravity. We want to direct it away from your face.
  • Put your thumbs on the area of swelling, your forehead or under your hairline.
  • Brace the rest of your fingers on the side of your head.
  • With as much pressure as possible, use your thumbs to milk the fluid from center outwards and then down to in front of the year.
  • Do this every 2 hours while you are awake for the first 3 days after your procedure.
  • If you continue to see swelling, massage until it is totally flar

Daily Activities

  • You can shower the day of the procedure with luke warm or cooler water.​
  • Follow the massaging protocol to avoid facial swelling. Massage every other hour while awake for 3 days. Massage any bumps totally flat.
  • You may shower the night of your procedure, but use luke warm or colder water.
  • Only take Tylenol for discomfort.
  • Try to avoid anti-inflammatories like NSAIDS or steroids for entire treatment course (usually 6 months)
  • Return to normal activity the following day (exercise, etc)
  • Resume hair care the following day (hair product, topical treatments, etc)
